Are you being good little boys and girls and doing as your told. All safely hidden away in your homes, like the authorities asked you too. Doesn't self isolation and social-distancing feel like you have been grounded by mom and dad, but you did do anything wrong.
I guess we're all in the same boat this time. For the first week it's, like, hey this is great, I'm taking a staycation. But two weeks later, after being trapped with your wife and kids all the time. You're pounding on your front window saying, "I've been framed, I'm innocent I tell you, innocent. I'll tell you anything, anything you want. Just let me out of this place.
Now, if you're like me, you have turned off the news. We all know it's bad out there, and we're following the prescribed protocol for our safety. What I don't need, what we don't need is someone lamenting over and over how bad it is. Believe it or not there is some good new that doesn't get enough air time. That's the daily number of people recovering from Covid19.
To me right now, the reporting is comparable to a telethon, and everytime a new report of confirmed cased comes out, it's like having the celebrity host say, "well it's time to take a look at the big tote board". That's why I elected not to watch the news. If something important happens, I'll see it in the headlines of what's trending on my phone's browser, while sitting on the toilet.
Ah, the bathroom. My fortress of solitude during these days of confinement. If you saw me throughout the day, I wouldn't blame you for thing I had a case of the runs. But that's not the case. When you're the only male in the household, sometimes you need a little of your own self imposed isolation. Hell even all the pets are female. Now don't get me wrong, I love my family, but for you who are old enough to know who Archie Bunker is, well I find that I am often mimicking one of his suicide pantomimes.
Which brings me to why I'm writing now. Like everyone else I need an outlet for the stress caused by Covid19. For me that was making the short video below. You could say it's my small contribution to the fight with Covid19. Since there's enough seriousness out there now, I took a lighthearted approach to the subject. Amidst all the grey overcast negative news, I offer a brief ray of sunshine.
Although not a cure for the menace, next to a big hug. A bright cherry smile is the next best medicine going. May each an everyone of you be blessed by whoever you pray to.
Bye.
Allan
